Incentive Identification & Negotiation

EDFS is here to help find and secure statutory and discretionary incentives. These incentives help companies reduce operating costs and stay competitive. EDFS preserves a unique database of credits and incentives, in addition to  a database of past incentive deals, which allow us to easily identify tax savings and evaluate incentive opportunities.  Through coordinated feedback from the company’s, operations, finance and tax functions, EDFS will work with companies to identify the following incentive opportunity triggers:

  • Job Creation

  • New Machine & Equipment

  • CapEx Spending

  • Training Initiatives

  • Acquisitions and Consolidations

Once an incentive project is recognized, EDFS will manage the incentive negotiation process paralleling the company’s corporate values.

Statutory Credit Reviews

EDFS will perform a comprehensive review to find and analyze chances for further savings, based on State awards both current and previously filed. These statutory credits are typically based on employment, capital investments, and property tax reductions for any new capital projects. Minor assistance is required from our clients to perform the review.

EDFS will:

  • Review past State filings and current year filing

  • Find the additional savings

  • File for the credits and provide compliance as needed

  • Review upcoming plans to assess additional opportunities

Incentive Management & Compliance

Ensure that a company is receiving all the incentives promised. According to NY Times companies that “go it alone” often fail to collect about 50% of the incentives previously negotiated because of a lack of compliance controls. EDFS manages compliance by offering to:

  • Asses your existing incentive agreements

  • Monitor changes in legislature, regulations, and incentive programs

  • File reports as necessary, i.e. Annual & Quarterly

  • Follow-up with appropriate entities to guarantee the incentives are secured

We benchmark incentive awards and continuously keep an eye out for your incentive values.
